Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service are now demonstrating their new RFID solution which allows them to undertake a vehicle inventory saving up to 90% of the time it took using earlier methods. WFRS use several makes of RFID readers and have acquired RFID tags from several manufactures to ensure the highest level of read accuracy. They also double up with bar code labels which can be of great help when an RFID tag cannot be read or has been damaged.

Their solution uses the latest Redkite EMS Mobile RFID software which batch reads RFID tags locker by locker. Readings are compared with a vehicle template which will show whether all (and the correct) assets are in place. The solution also shows any deficits or where an asset is incorrectly placed, either in the wrong position on the vehicle or on the wrong vehicle allowing authorised fir personnel to re-locate as necessary.
